Do Not Place Regular Garbage or Recyclables in the Brown Compostable Bins

Paper bags containing regular garbage were found in the Brown Bins. Aside from reducing the amount of composables that can be stored in the brown bins, we could get fined by the City. Again, here are the rules:

What to Compost

  • ALL leaf and yard waste, including flowers and Christmas trees
  • ALL food scraps, including meat, bones, shells, and dairy
  • Prepared and cooked foods
  • Greasy uncoated paper plates and pizza boxes
  • Products certified or labeled compostable.

DO NOT compost trash such as wrappers, pet waste, medical waste, diapers, foam, personal, or hygiene products.

DO NOT compost metal glass, plastic, cartonsclean paper, or cardboard.
