Though we were informed that the Post Office would begin using the new mailboxes in the main lobby on Thursday August 23, it appears that was only the date USPS could begin to use the new mailboxes. As you are aware, so far mail has continued to be delivered to the temporary location at the Dean Street entrance. However, please be aware that USPS may make the switch any day.
Reminder – Heating System is Drained Temporarily
This is a reminder that the heating system has been drained for the past 3 weeks to allow all owners to have necessary repairs/modifications performed on the components of the heating system in their units. A date for re-filling of the system has not yet been set, but will need to be scheduled soon. Accordingly, if you would like to have any work performed, please schedule this with the Super/Management as soon as possible. You must coordinate all such work with the Super/Management, as there will still be some water in the system in various locations, and precautions must be taken to ensure there are no leaks.
Once the heating system is re-filled, it will not be drained again (as doing so is both costly and wasteful). Thank you for your understanding.
120 Boerum Lobby Update
The remodeled lobby is now accessible to 1st floor residents. This includes the trash chute, so please start using that once again.
The “main” stairs are still not open, and likely will not be until next week. Additionally, mail will continue to be delivered to the old boxes at the Dean St. entrance until the lobby is fully opened. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
120 Boerum Pl. Lobby Update
We thank everyone for their patience. The lobby is nearly finished. There are 3 stairs left to tile and the brass railings need to go in. There was a delay in all of the brass arriving which is holding up the opening of the lobby. We anticipate completion next week. Val will be distributing mailbox keys in the coming days so we have an easy transition.
Attention 134 Boerum Residents
The Scraping and Painting of the Fire Escape on the Bergen St. side of the building is scheduled to start on Monday, Aug. 6. Please close and lock your windows during the day, while the work is being done.
Heating System has been drained.
Upon notifying the Super and/or the Managing agent of the specific date of the work, all owners who wish to have work done on their baseboard heating units may now do so. The Super will be on hand during the start of the work. Be aware that there will probably still be some water in the system in various locations.

Heating System Drain – Contact Management if Necessary
The water in the building heating system will be drained once this summer so that necessary general boiler maintenance can take place. If you desire to make any modifications to heating apparatuses in your Unit (e.g., the installation or replacement of a control valve), please inform Val or building Management promptly, so that such work can be coordinated with the draining of the system that is being scheduled.
